Jean Stapleton, who played TV's Edith Bunker, dies: LA Times Jun 1st 2013, 20:41 NEW YORK | Sat Jun 1, 2013 4:41pm EDT NEW YORK (Reuters) - Actress Jean Stapleton, best known for her role as Edith Bunker in the hit 1970s' television series "All in the Family," has died at age 90, the Los Angeles Times reported on Saturday. Stapleton's family said she died on Friday of natural causes at her home in New York City, the newspaper reported. The actress won three Emmys for her role as the long-suffering wife of loud-mouthed bigot Archie Bunker, played by the late Carroll O'Connor, in the TV sitcom.
